The 9 of Hearts is the second of two cards I designed and animated while participating in the TOMO x MOMO community card challenge. The Toronto Motion and Montréal illustration communities worked together to design and animate a deck of 52 cards.

The 9 of Hearts is the "wish" card, and it represents a high likelihood of one’s wishes and dreams coming true.

Wanting to create variance from my first card, the route of covert messaging and story through symbology felt right. Ladybirds departing from an orange peony, to spread wishes and good luck became the story.

Orange peonies symbolise enthusiasm, energy, and positive change.

When a ladybird lands on you, it is said you have been chosen and you may make a wish.
